So I think the best way to extract all the drum fills, in tempos of choice, is to create a very long song in Biab with lots of A,B drum parts. Since they don't contain any notes like the other instruments which makes things much more complex. It would be easy for them to implement that feature for the real drums so we could pick any drum fill we want, This video shows A,B sections and drum parts, but can we change the actual fills? Some fills are great but I wish I could have direct access to them. They are all found in the real drums folder. I've now started moving BiB parts to Reaper, to save my favorite drum parts, but I hope there is an easier way. Is there a way to choose the specific fills that the real drums are playing? Some good tips and advice I learned in these SOS articles not mentioned in the manual. If some chords are changed or the song is re-rendered then it's impossible to have the tracks play it identical to how it was before.

So I'm learning this feature packed software and I've come to realize the importance of freezing and saving tracks as soon as something sounds good. Good examples of all the 300 available real tracks here for those who are interested. I tried it many years ago but I didn't like the midi sounds, but now with real tracks it sounds fantastic. It's pretty amazing the speed it allows us to experiment when composing songs or practicing. Just my $.02.What an incredible composing tool BiB is. In either program you can start with one of their midi styles and render the midi to a wav file to send to a DAW or burn a CD. I still feel they have the best styles for Rock musicians. Maybe the newer version has been cleaned up.

Jammer Pro is just a bit confusing to me. I don't think I ever had to open the manual. I also stated that it is a very intuitive program. I feel even the Rock Styles have a jazz flair with diminished chords, etc.

I got an email to upgrade and I never did.Īs I said earlier, if you are into Jazz then BIAB is for you. I believe there is a newer version out, I guess it's #6. I am not sure about the harmonies on Jammer Pro 5. It's a great forum with very helpful people. If you go to their web page and go to the forum, you can find out anything you want. Like BIAB, ACID has many style "disks" that you can buy - but the ACID disks are much more expensive than the BIAB disks. using samples & loops - you may find that something like ACID (basically a Sony loop based platform) may work better for your needs. Sometimes I keep the BIAB piano parts or bass line, but everything else gets replaced.ĭepending on how MIDI savvy you are vs. I will be honest, for my own projects, I will start in band in the box just to get a basic song arrangement together, then I start to replace most of BIAB with actual performance (via MIDI). You can go in and edit many parts (how deep into the programs you choose to get is a matter of getting to know the software), but you can do some serious tweaking of the sequence patterns if you choose. In most styles the piano parts are decent and the bass lines are functional, but the "guitar" parts are weak and the drums can be hit and miss (basic grooves aren't bad but the fills can suck) Some of the jazz styles, blues shuffle, country, etc are decent. That being said some BIAB styles are decent and some are as already indicated "cheesy". Keep in mind BIAB is basically a sequence program to drive MIDI sound modules.

In fact, a song I co-wrote with this guy was placed in a movie and other than the vocals and an electric guitar solo the entire production was BIAB.

I work with a songwriter that does everything in BIAB and then gives me a disk to load into my machine to add guitars, etc.
